NAMM Show 2009- The whole review Framus is excited about the amount of positive changes taking place for the company this year. At NAMM there was definitely a sense of rejuvenation in the air between dealers, distributors, players, and just about everyone who visited the booth. In the last year we evaluated our product and made necessary improvements all while keeping ahead of the curve through innovation. TonePros systems are now available on most models, and with the addition of Plek Technology, the guitars, like the Mayfield, are being sought after and played by many of today’s most relevant guitarists including JT Woodruff (Hawthorne Heights) and Sébastien Lefebvre (Simple Plan). Jazz guitarist Mordy Ferber and Sick Puppies guitarist/frontman Shimon Moore were both on hand to check out and play Framus Mayfield guitars. Ferber became an “unofficial” performer at the Framus booth over the weekend, sitting in with bassist John B. Williams during his performances throughout the course of the show. And Young Dubliners guitarist Bob Boulding was on hand Sunday afternoon to perform and extol the virtues of Framus (look for a video interview with Bob on the Framus website in the coming months in which he discusses their stellar craftsmanship and road-worthiness). Interest in Framus amps was equally impressive. Whether it was the Cobra, the Dragon or the Ruby Riot, dealers, distributors and players alike were thrilled to learn that they would soon be available in the States again. Uli Jon Roth, a staunch advocate of the Framus Cobra, stopped by to show his support. Chris Storey from the deathcore band All Shall Perish dropped in to say that gets tone like “blazing metal” when he plugs an Ibanez Tube Screamer into his Dragon. He inquired about an official endorsement. In addition to exploring Framus guitars Shimon Moore also expressed an interest in playing our amps. DeWayne “Blackbyrd” McKnight (P-Funk, ex-Headhunters) came by at the behest of TM Stevens and explored the possibility of playing Framus Cobra amps and Framus guitars. Expect to hear a lot from Framus this year and be ready to smile from ear to ear when you do. In other Warwick-related NAMM news, retailers were really excited to see GHS offer an expanded line of accessories. Warwick recently announced GHS Strings as the exclusive distributor of its RockBag by Warwick accessories in the United States. “I could not be more happy with a choice of exclusive partners than I am with GHS Strings”, explained Hans-Peter Wilfer, Managing Director of Warwick. “Warwick has a long-standing relationship with GHS Strings and this is a natural extension of the fruitful relationship that we already share. GHS has the sales team, the logistical organization and knowledge of the US market that will insure the best for all of our valued RockBag by Warwick dealers and end users.” | |
